Training for New DCFS employees

TUE

May
2015

As a way to welcome new employees to DCFS and to orient them to basic information about the agency, a computer-based course and an instructor-led training have been developed. The DCFS Training Section developed the classroom course.

Supervisors and Managers state-wide have been given an opportunity to preview the course and provide input.

This memorandum is to announce these trainings for all new employees hired by DCFS. This is different from the specific new worker trainings provided by the Child Welfare, Economic Stability, and Child Support Enforcement Sections for new employees in those assigned programs.

You may refer to Training Memorandum 14-10, dated 10-2-2014 and titled DCFS Training Restructure and Procedures, regarding the planned one day orientation training for new DCFS employees.

All employees hired on and after April 1, 2015, are expected to review the computer-based course entitled: “Orientation to DCFS 2015” and to participate in the instructor–led course:

“DCFS Orientation: The Road to Success”. The computer-based course should be reviewed prior to attending the instructor-led course. The Regional Trainers in each region will provide the instructor–led course, “DCFS Orientation: The Road to Success”,
beginning May, 2015 in each of the nine regions.

The computer-based course, “Orientation to DCFS 2015”, is found in MOODLE, the DCFS Learning Management System. The entire course must be completed in order to receive a half hour of general credit.
