Kinship Navigator - Assistance
Providing quality care to children and meeting their needs require a family's emotional, physical, and financial resources. Relative caregivers may, at times, find that they need assistance to meet the needs of the children in their care. In addition to the resources available within local communities by service organizations such as food banks, faith-based clothing closets, etc., relative caregivers may qualify for DCFS assistance through:
- SNAP - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
- FITAP - Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program
- KCSP - Kinship Care Subsidy Program
Please refer to the Family Support webpage for eligibility requirements and application procedures.

Louisiana Fosters
Louisiana Fosters is a state-wide campaign launched by First Lady Donna Edwards to link government, faith, non-profit, business and community to create united support for Louisiana's foster care system. Foster care is a noble service, and those called to foster offer love and non-judgmental care to children who desperately need support.
