The purpose of this one day workshop is to provide a step by step walk through of completing a safety plan when a child(ren) has been determined to be unsafe. This workshop will follow the new Task Analysis Model, which provides a hands-on approach to training. Participants in the workshop will have an opportunity to practice critical aspects of safety plan development. Participants will receive live feedback during practice sessions. Review tests will be given during the workshop was well as a final criterion test at the end of the workshop. The tests will be used to assess the participant’s ability to successfully develop a safety plan according to the safety plan protocol. Results of the tests will be provided to the participant and participant’s supervisor via email following the workshop. The results of the tests should be used by the supervisor to determine further knowledge and skill needs pertaining to safety plan development. Supervisors should plan opportunities for their workers, as needed, for further growth and development in this area of practice.
