Federal Cost-of-Living Adjustments Increase SNAP Benefits

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will see an increase in their monthly household allotment beginning October 1, 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) new cost-of-living adjustments.

In response to the pandemic, DCFS received federal approval to issue supplemental SNAP benefits for September 2022. Families who receive SNAP in September, but don't already receive the maximum allotment for their household size, will receive a supplement to bring them to the max. The supplemental allotments will be loaded onto EBT cards by Sunday, September 4.
