Changes Coming to Child Support Direct Payment Card Clients

DCFS encourages custodial parents to enroll in direct deposit

BATON ROUGE - The State of Louisiana is transitioning to a new Stored Value Card for Child Support clients. All child support clients are urged to immediately verify their current mailing address with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Clients are also strongly encouraged to enroll in direct deposit - a more convenient, secure, and efficient method to receive child support payments.

"Our primary focus during this transition is to ensure that timely child support payments are received by our families," said DCFS Secretary Suzy Sonnier. "In order to minimize any disruption in services, it is essential for our families to verify that we have the most up-to-date mailing information. Enrolling in direct deposit is another way to ensure child support payments are readily available."

Direct deposit is available to those with an active checking or savings account. The Direct Deposit form is available online at

Custodial parents who do not wish to enroll in direct deposit must still verify their mailing address. To do this, they should log into their DCFS CAFÉ account at and selecting "Check My Cases" under MyAccount and send a message with their address through the Child Support Message Center. They can also call 1-888-LA-HELPU (1-888-524-3578) to speak with a customer service representative to update their address.
