Crisis Intervention

The Crisis Intervention Division oversees Louisiana's homeless shelters and the Family Violence Prevention and Intervention Program.

The Family Violence Prevention and Intervention Program funds, advocates and partners to end domestic violence in Louisiana and to ensure survivors and their loved ones lead safe, independent, quality lives.


Helping Our Homeless
An emergency shelter is defined as any facility, the primary purpose of which is to provide temporary or transitional shelter for the homeless in general or for specific populations of the homeless.
